Western Red Cedar

It is not uncommon for mature Western Red Cedar trees to grow in excess of 200 feet and fifteen plus feet in diameter. Its large stature turns out good, uniform clear wood, straight grained with a coarse texture. It's this texture that gives Cedar its characteristic rustic finish. The heartwood or core varies from a deep red to light reddish-brown. The sapwood is a thin outer layer, which runs from light tan to rich creamy white.
